Uncertainty Principle

2011

Uncertainty Principle is a project that aims to proclaim the power of uncertainty, as a cultural force in a society that, by and large, views doubt as a negative value.

Art and science, although traditionally thought of as opposing fields, both depend on doubt and uncertainty as generative forces. Using appropriated political and scientific imagery, I have created images that take their form from advertising and propaganda, but that subvert their intended purpose.

It is propaganda against propaganda that asserts the value of confusion as a source of wonder and an inspiration to critical thought.
